Our annual Gumbo Competition was on Saturday, March 23, 2024. We had some rain to start the day, but that didn't stop us. We moved the competition inside and still passed a good time. There were eight gumbo teams in the running, with lotsa' delicious gumbo for sampling! Definitely not an easy task for the competition judges and all who came out to sample and vote for people's choice. But when it came down to it, Team Mike was the People's Choice Winner, Team Neher was the Judge's Choice Winner, Soulfrito was the People's Choice Runner-Up, the Cajun Transplants were Judge's Choice Runner-Up, and The Beach Bums were Best Decorated. Additional teams included Crescent City Krewe, Podnas, and Onslow Community Outreach Soup Kitchen. Approximately 350 attended and everyone passed a real good time! Many thanks to our Gumbo Chefs & Teams, our Family of customers who came out to sample the Gumbos, our friends, our neighbors, and especially our Families who traveled from Texas, Ohio, and Virgina to help make the competition a success!
